Pet was 1 y/o when I got him and didn't have a lot of handling. This made him shy and a bit apprehensive coming out of his cage. With time he is now use to me talking to the other birds and I even open his door and say hi to him. Last night he let me give scritches to his head then put his head down to let me give more!!! Today he stepped up on my hand. He made a few calls but I kept him right by his cage and he could leave any time....but stayed!!!! That is great for him and now we will move on.

I didn't know you got a Vasa. I'll have to do some reading here to find out how that came to be. I know you wanted one for a long time. Glad you got your wish.

He is my last wish list bird Melissa. Today was a great day. The weather is cooling a bit here so I have been doing some major house cleaning and getting rid of old or broken cages. The birds wanted out so I let Ben out. He was real good and went from his cage to old cage to playstand. Marley wanted out and likes to go to the top of the double stack (91" tall!). Then there was Petoskey. He was bobbing all over the place. I went to get him AND...he stepped up. I took him to the playstand which he stayed at for a while then he went onto Ben's cage and hung out. He then got moved into the DR on the king cage playstand which he LOVED. Such a good boy he was and he let me pick him up and put him away.

His nails are long and pointy so need a cement perch for him. I am not ready to restrain him to trim nails after we have made these break throughs. Gads...he is so sweet and watching him preen was awesome!
