UV bulb is broke - not sure if parrot did it or it just popped?

Anyways, I ended up getting a UV lamp for my Amazon, have had it for about a year, no issues. I dont use it all the time, only times when I cant take him outside, maybe once or twice a week. Anyways, I went to go turn it on today, and nothing... start looking at it and where the bulb tube loops over is where the glass popped. About a pea sized hole. I dont think he tried breaking it, I would assume he'd crack the whole thing. I cant find the little glass piece so it may have been vac'd up a few days ago... like I said, not sure when this happened. He seems fine. I assume if he ate glass or received Merc poisoning he would be acting weird? Do these bulbs pop sometimes? Thanks.

like any light bulb, water could have hit it? Debri from the toys? what is the distance of the lamp from the top of your cage? you can probably purchase some small chicken wire to place under the lamp to help prevent any damage to the bulb. but naturally they dont just burst, should just go out. im sure your bird should be fine, can bring him/her to the vet and get the bird checked out.
