I cant belive its happening and my poor baby is not getting a break, i saw today that my bird had some blood under its wing, i looked and it looked like a feather cyst and that was bleeding, i freakd out but now the bleeding has stopped and she eats rignt now, i called the vet and they askes if it was one feather one the cyst, what i saw was it was more little tiny feathers on it. So its not an emergency but they said that it would be good to look it up. But om really worried, she has or have a respitory infection that we treated in two weeks and now this happens i dont now what to do becuase its the weekend tomorrow… here is the picture i got of the cyst looking thing. It's a pretty common thing to have a clogged or infected feather follicle. even if it is confirmed a cyst many are not cancerous and quite simple to remove. Make the appointment to have it looked at and try not to panic.

Stay calm, see the vet. Remember, our birds feed off our emotions...

If it was my bird, I'd be calling the vet.

I'd definitely call the vet as well if she's struggling to breathe.

Hello everyone ive been at the vet, the vet told is that her organs are dameged by a most likely non cancerious toumor that have been in her vent in almost two years, she will have a life long medication that reduces pain and inflammation. The cause to her sneezing and open mouth breathing was not a infection. It was that her lungs are pushed so her heart. Im sad becuase im scared that it Will grow. But geateful we know the problem afterall. The vet told is that she gained two grams since her last visit. And that she seems alert and mostly not dying. We have done everythibg we can becuse the toumor cant be removed becuase its too risky and dangerous.

I'm sorry. Budgies seem to have an increased risk for tumors. Often there are just not many options. Other than what you are doing, love and support care and providing the best life you can.

Big hugs to you

Thankyou for the support ❤ btw its a parrotlet, but she will have a lifelong medication tha is painkilling and antiinflamatory, the possebileties is that why she breathes so hard id probably the lung and heart is inflamed. So the meds hopefully will do its work❤

I have a slight problem tho, i will have vacation in some days, so when my birds are with their new babysitter, she does not really know how to maybe give her her meds ,so im a little worried how that would go. Before that i will give her the right amount of metacan and more veggies! I want to make sure that her breathing will be better

I dont think it will work, my parents will tell her to put the meds in a seed but i do not know if that will work, do you think she would be okay in a week without properly give her the meds? Ive tried what i could but i will call the vet tomorrow and ask for some advice for that

Not sure, is the medicine meant to be given to the bird directly (by syringe)? The vet might be able to give a dose to put in the water. It probably won't be as effective, but it will be better than no medicine at all.
