So another update! Sisi and I went to another specialist today to get a second opinion, and I'm so glad I did! :)

The specialist really took his time to hear about Sisi her problems and to examine her. He thought it was rather weird how the other specialist treated Sisi her problems and didn't want to examine further. He suggested to take some x-rays and to do an endoscopy, so that's what we did.
He couldn't see anything on the x-rays, but when he did the endoscopy there it finally was. She has a spot of aspergillosis near her Syrinx.
She got 2 medications, one which needs to be nebulized and she also has another anti fungal medication to give orally. The specialist wants to see us again in a month to do another endoscopy to see if the spot is reacting to the treatment, if not they have another treatment which they can try. But the specialist hopes this will work for her.
I'm actually so relieved that we finally know more about Sisi her condition. :)

Sisi was still a bit drowsy and wobbly from her anesthesia when we came home, I wasn't really comfortable to put her in her cage just yet. So I took her on my lap and we just cuddled for a bit till she felt better

Sounds good. Locating that asper colony is a big deal.

Yes I'm so glad we know the location now and we have a bit off a treatment plan! :)

So I went to uncover Sisi her cage this morning and go and give her, her medications. And saw that she had vomited during the night, she also hadn't eaten all of her pellets (she did eat some though). :( she otherwise seems fine, she's not lethargic or anything.
Could this possibly still be from her endoscopy and anesthesia? Or is it more likely that it's because of her new medications?
I will keep a close eye on her and I will probably call the specialists clinic tomorrow when they are open again.

What are her new medications? Those medications and a hangover from the anesthesia are the prime suspects. Jasper would puke once or twice every time she was anesthetized, but that was it. Give it a little time and see what happens.

She is getting Terbinafine orally and Clotrimazol is nebulized.
Thank you so much for the info! Will definitely give it a bit of time and watch her closely, she luckily hasn't vomited again.

I doubt that she will - unless she has contracted an opportunistic infection, which is not uncommon with aspergillosis. You are attuned to her enough that you should recognize if she has something going on.

Yes she didn't really seem sick to me except from the vomiting. But I wasn't really sure if it could be from the anesthesia (and medications), but I feel reassured now. :)
I'm just a bit more alert after everything with Sisi :o:

That's for sure. That damned Asper will teach anyone to be super cognizant of what's going on.

I feel like such a extreme worry wart with Sisi.
She was doing really great actually these last few days, she even played a little bit again. So it seems like the medication she is on now works for her.
But today she was extremely grumpy. I had a hard time to give her, her oral medication. She was also really quiet again today. And when I let her out her cage this afternoon, she was just really short of breath. Her breathing sounded really squeaky/whistling. These kind of days/moments make me so nervous, although she isn't really bad (like that she needs to get an emergency appointment at the vet, she still eats and drinks and talks a bit and isn't really lethargic).. but I feel like a nervous wreck with this. :angelic: she probably just has a bad day, but with these moments I'm just a bit nervous that she is getting worse.
Sorry I just kind of needed to rant a bit :o:

Nothing to be sorry about. Your keeping a good eye on her and know if she needs to be seen by the vet. It's hard but take one day at a time. Hang in there. :)
