Quite a bit has been going on since Java started taking medicine, all for the better. First, the swelling in his hock is going down daily which seems to make him feel much better. He's been very vocal and chatty lately, not as nippy, he's begun exploring more of his cage little by little, and my favorite part: he's flying! He can gain lift and turn pretty decently but his landing gear needs practice.
He seems to be in a better mood overall, chirping and mumbling into his feathers as he cleans himself, and he takes his medicine like a champ most of the time. I feel like he's coming out of his shell, which makes me so happy! His foot is still pink and smooth but the medicine is really helping the healing process, along with everything being padded. He's doing wonderful! He has about another 10 days of Metacam (1x a day) and smz/tmp (2x a day), and then I'll still be applying the cream to his foot once a day until it's healed. So happy with his progress!
