I am sending in the DNA kit tomorrow. I should know by next week what his gender is....I'm hoping for a boy but I will be happy either way.

I just received this email from the DNA place.

"Thank you for choosing DDC Veterinary for your DNA Testing needs. We appreciate your business.
We received your DNA samples on 8/8/2011and began the process of log-in and DNA extraction. We request that you please allow 5 business days to complete the testing for the following DNA service: Avian-DNA Sexing-Feather
Your DNA results are due for completion by 8/15/2011
Upon completion and final review your result will be mailed and emailed to you promptly. If you are having multiple DNA tests performed on the same animal please keep in mind that results of the different tests may not be completed simutaneously. "

So I will know for sure by Monday!

I would call them in a day or two to check the progress. Not sure why it would take 5 days to do the test. Avian biotech usually has results the day after receiving.

Congrats! An older gentleman, (RIP) Cliff Patterson, whom I'd bought my Quakers from had said that the girl Quakers had a wider stance and "broader hips" (he didn't call them that) for the egg laying.
