Well when my Grandson Derek came to stay with me there were problems and we have them solved . at least for the time being ,,lol we Derek and me are both in the room at our computers with Mango very happy .
Mango has always wanted company but has always insisted I leave they stay this all started when he was about 3 yrs old I have always axcepted his actions but also had the company place him in his cage but with Derek living here its been difrent,,lol
Yes he loves Derek when hes home alone with Mango hes always on his shoulder no mater what hes doing , and the same when im home alone there has been no change hes been my baby,,lol
So I had to fix it so we both could be home same time , when I would come home id phone Derek I had arrived he would get his coffee and leave I would come in and give Mango a special treat one im sure you all would disagree but it worked a little bit od chopped eg with a touch of mayonaze just a touch it worked hed get his egg sandwich in his cage lol and in he would go this was a every night thing and we would bring the cage in the main room where we were
its been 2 weeks now and no problem Mang has settled down no more bribing,,lol oh I still give him treats but the good ones,,lol
I discovered long ago he loves peas in pods so i try very hard to keep them on hand and with Derek here i made pea soup and discovered Mango loves it ,hes a hard one to get greens in him but i do keep working on it and always will buckchoy is a nother one he will eat so i keep that handy to
Yes keeping Mango in his cage the times we were both home sure helped , but i have to laugh cause he dosent go to Derek any more ,,lol hes Mommas boy so many of you were wrong and I still think he thought he was protecting me
and will do so again next time we have company , I would like to think this would change but im not that stuped
oh he will fly at me to attack and fly back to the company it is his way to say Mom get lost,,lol .
Mango and I are well bonded I can go to a nother room and call him and he will come he also knows when I am upset with him he has no fear of me and i have no fear of him , it all boiles down to knowing your bird and him knowing you .
Mango is as free now as he was 2 months ago even then he was free all day he was only caged for about 2 hrs befor bed time and 2 hole days when we were both home both times were on a tuesday .
Tomorrow I will be getting an apointment with kidney SP and seeing my DR on thursday , I have to much protien in my urine and yes kidneys are much worse was given a new med but I slept 2 days after taking it and my DR was on holidays so I was told to stop it as soon as I know anything I will advise , my eyes are getting bad so I havent been on comp
