Dillon is 36 and had surgery to remove an abscess near his preen gland. This was ten days ago; he seems healthy and is playing as usual and eating well. The only thing he is still coughing. How long should this go on? Vet said its from irritation from treke tube. Anyone else had similar experience with this after a surgery Thank you

That's about the right time for tracheal irritation to show up post operatively and it's a pretty common occurance. If he's still acting normally give it some time to resolve. Things to watch for would be exercise intolerance and increased respiratory effort. Keep in touch with your vet and let them know how he's doing, they'll be able to help advise if it goes on too long.
