Turtle pond. Here?

Hello all!

I have a musk turtle called Kasana who is starting to outgrow her indoor aquarium. I want to give her the biggest enclosure I can, but large aquariums are very expensive in the UK.

I would like to give her a pond. I have read this is possible in the UK and I know of somebody in nearby Somerset who has 20 ponds and about 200 turtles. How should I go about making a pond that is ideal for a turtle, and maybe more in the future.Probably some rescues from people that don't realise turtles can't live in a 30 litre tub...

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

Currently the old aviary is there!

I would like a waterfall and like a little cove they could come out on to.

I would like to know things like depth, gradient of sides, possible plants etc.

I can't think of anyone with a turtle pond!

EDIT: @Just-passn-thru has one in their beautiful pond if I remeber correctly!

Are there any turtle forums? They might be able to better assist. I know I got a lot of good ideas for my Leopard gecko tank through Facebook groups

I have a soft shell turtle. If you have a female they need a area to lay eggs out of the water

When it's done, I would like to rescue some more turtles. We have a big problem in the UK (and even worse in the US) of turtles being dumped in canals and rivers because people think they can live in tiny tubs and tanks! The problem is so big, Red Earded Sliders are now banned in the UK because they are an invasive species from hundreds of people just dumping them!
