Mute swans are super common by me - would have thought they were everywhere in the US.

Maybe the costs are just really small ;) Trumpeters are good size birds. Bigger than a Canadian goose if that's helpful. I've been lucky enough to hand fed a few of them. They are really gorgeous and don't really appreciate how they are until you see the out of the water and walking.
