So are renos are almost finished. It's just tile and grout we have to do. I'm wanting to wait a couple after days everything done. Partly to air things out and I do dust almost. I know I won't get it all done.

Anyway is the any off gassing with tile and grout? Our contractor isn't using glue and it shouldn't smell at all. Do I need to wait to bring Echo home? It *should* be finished tomorrow. I definitely need to some cleaning. But I can basically bring Echo home Sunday or Monday. Right now the plan is Monday. But my mom is loosing her patience driving me everyday. It's so stressful with the holidays coming up. My brothers are coming up and we're running out of time. My brothers are on Tuesday, Christmas eve.

@JLcribber @Macawnutz @Shezbug and @Mizzely Do any of you know? Echo can stay longer at the borders if needed. But ideally I'd like him home for Christmas

Been a little minute since we tiled but I honestly don’t remember there being any smell to the grout. I don’t even recall there being any smell when we sealed our grout.

Ok good to know! Thankyou!! It been so stressful with it not being finished and the Christmas days away. I thought it be done by now. But extra days keep being added for various reasons. And we don't have a working vacuum :banghead:

With renovations and any major works on houses it’s pretty normal to run overtime unfortunately - things pop up that were not expected, delays from stores getting materials in etc, it’s pretty normal for that to happen in most cases.

Our vacuum recently started making weird sounds and smelling bad like the motor was gonna blow up but I don’t have hundreds spare for a new one right now, we found a new motor and my son fiddled about fitting it and boom we have a brand new Dyson in an old vac house/case.

If tiling is to be done in another room to Echo is it possible to just shut doors and set up exhaust fans so you can have him home sooner rather than later?

Echo could be upstairs potentially. Some of the tiling will be right near his room, the other part will be in my bedroom.

It complicated because my brother, his wife and 2 year old son are potentially staying here. He's a neat freak and things are chaotic here and there's still dust in a lot of places.

I'm currently using the guest bedroom as my bedroom because my bedroom isn't finished yet. The main floor is mostly box free, as we find places to put things. My mom wants my brother to stay here but we do have a hotel room booked just in case. I told my mom to leave up to my brother if he wants to be here or not. I'm more focus on getting Echo's room done and if my brother stays here making sure things childproof things and put things where his can't get them. I don't have the time or the energy to the guest bedroom perfectly clean. So it will be tidy but no dusting or very little dusting.

If my brother chooses a hotel than bringing Echo's little cage upstairs wouldn't be a huge problem. And he could stay with me during Christmas in it depending. It's difficult because it's hard where where at with process day to day. I'm really hoping everything will be done tomorrow :fingerscrossed: I get let things air out

I had tile and grout done in the kitchen a few years back with the birds in the dining room. We also tile suites on a regular basis. Have never smelled anything to the grout or even when cutting the tile though it is with a manual cutter. My 2 renovations guys are woosies, so if there was any chance of toxic stuff, they would be suited up as if facing the plague. They are like the proverbial canary :lol:just my 2 cents worth…
