It is possible that items such as these could promote nesting behavior although these are open at both ends so less likely. These are modeled after the snuggle huts except without any harmful cotton/fleece to chew or get caught in. Bamboo also has a natural slickness to it that makes it easy to clean unlike regular wood perches.

Depends on your boy for sure. My boy thinks everything is a potential nesting spot

I could just unbolt the tube from his cage and place him and it in his travel cage. Heck, even the vet might like it. He could just run the whole Opie cannoli through the x-ray machine, trim his beak and his nails...

I have rectangle open ended boxes for four of my conures. The front of the box facing the door of the cage has a 2 inch peekaboo hole for them to look out. I could measure them but I Do know they are much bigger than your tube. These boxes have not triggered any nesting responses in the CB hens. Both those girls hatched here in 2009 and neither to date ( nor my female GC ) have laid any eggs- ever. I will say.. once in a while when Casey is visiting Scarlett they will sneak in the box for supposed hanky panky. I interrupt because I’m the chaperone.

Hubby interrupted my post earlier and I could have written it better. I had someone make my boxes for me and in hind sight wish they were a bit smaller and lighter in weight. The birds that have them go in and out all the time. I have perches placed for easy in and exit. I would like a couple more. It’s been some time since I posted a photo of one of these boxes in Scarlett’s cage. I still don’t have a computer so no access to my files. I like the tube and would try one. Super cute video!
