How neat! I'm surprised how "violently"? the one in back eats. o_O The one in the foreground just gently pecks, but the other slashes in at an angle. :backout:

I love how close you can get to them. :swoon: I can't believe you get to see this everyday. :joyful:

The bird towards me at the beginning is dad, he fell in the feeder  :imok:
That´s mum rummaging in the bowl. She´s the one who comes down to the water bowl, and the first to leave.
Look at dad at the end of the video - he has the face of a ¨don´t mess with me!¨ type of bird
They are both really really large birds.

I love how close you can get to them. :swoon:
Only about 30 cm between them and the phone. They don´t mind as long as there´s food

Here´s a vid of the young ones from this summer. These chicks fledged, and constantly fought. They would be here every day running around on the floor chasing each other!
They have seemed to have moved on now.

Dads feet are grey and creepy looking (like skeleton), mums are more red. He also has a distinct face, around the eyes.

The young ones were always here, one had the drooped wing on one side, one was all picked on, and the other was just a small bird.
The young birds seem to grow up, hang around a bit then leave the street.

Dad rummaging;
I'm imagining people walking down below get bonked on the head with a few seeds occasionally and wonder " What the heck was that!"

I'm sure!! It's surprisingly quite busy down there on the footpath. Lots of dog walkers.
The problem isn't the seeds, it's when that hen is laying and has those reeeeeally loose poops! I sometimes hear them splatt on the street below! :dead:

Amazing! Next.. they'll be eating out of your hand!
I have tried a couple of times. They are interested, and I can get about 10-15 cm from them, but that seems to be the line.

The street sweeper is down sweeping the path below... and the doves are here tipping seeds :shy:

It´s really windy here. I see one of the doves in that same spot in the tree, sat on a branch facing the inner part of the tree so I think that´s where the little ones are.
They struggled eating just before the wind kept blowing them off the feeder!
Gonna get the binoculars out... :D
