Shykee Dec 25, 2004 - May 29, 2010

I woke up this morning to my lutino cockatiel, Shykee passed away. She wasn't feeling too well yesterday and I had set her up in a heated area and handfed her and gave her pedialyte to build up strength. I am not sure why she passed away other then she was egg laying. She was perfectly healthy until she laid her third egg and then she turned dramatically to not feeling well.

I can't get a necropsy done because I don't have anyone around here to do it.

Thank you everyone. I just don't know why God chose me to have all my birds pass away on me. Last year was terrible and now this year, I've lost two again. Maybe I'm not meant to have any.

No, Delta, don't ever think that you're not meant to have any birds. Sometimes, there just aren't answers. I'm so sorry.

Egg-laying can be hard on the females. I almost lost my Eclectus twice because of it.

Delta..it is statistics...the more you have, the more likely things will happen. As the saying goes...they were in a good place,if they were in your home. Your care and love will be carried in their spirits through eternity. Take heart and know they were fortunate to have lived with you.
