I don't have any baby pictures of Peanut handy, but this thread makes me want to dig some up. I do have some old photos somewhere, probably in a box...

Seriously, the only thing cuter than a lovebird is a baby lovebird. Or two, that Leyla/Nin baby picture baby picture is darling.

About time I added little miss Patch to this thread. She came into my life unannounced two weeks ago, and I've since fallen madly in love with her. She's shown more courage and determination than I would have thought possible from such a frail and tiny creature, and she's such a sweetheart.

This is my baby, Narcissus. He's about 4 months and I've had him for about a month. He's just now starting to change already and the orange right over his beak is getting brighter. I can't wait to see how else he changes. However, I'm not looking forward to the molt itself. I think he's just starting to though. My cockatiel is smack •••• in the middle of his first one and he's moody as hell. Right now my lovie is pecking at the keyboard and trying to squirm under my fingers as I type. Awwwe. I LOVE BIRDS!

Is it my imagination or do a lot of you happen to be professional photographers? Are lovebird owners naturally photographers, and take some awesome pictures? I have many pics, need to take more. Mine are old and over used.

Aww, lovebirds are just photogenic. When they want to be.
Which in my experience is almost never.
My strategy for Peanut pictures is to take 30 and hopefully she'll actually be holding still in one. And then take 30 more when every single one is blurry because I'm a terrible photographer.

Anyway, after digging through boxes for days I was only able to find pictures of Peanut about 10 and 11 years old (when she was 1-2 years old) and completely in her adult plumage. Actually I was pleased to see she looks much the same as she did when she was a decade younger. (Still, I didn't bother to scan them, there is no noticeable difference besides the number of stuffed animals in my room!)

So instead here is Peanut as she is today, but strangely enough in different lighting. I really thought it was interesting how much her color changed in photographs based on natural sunlight (first picture) and indoor lighting. In the same room!



Actually that's my other method of getting pictures of her, wait until she's nearly asleep.
And I'm so so so glad to hear Patch is doing well (on the other threads with more information, but I'm posting here so... Yaaay Patch!)

Its not the photographers, its the birds!

Our bird Love, choses when she wants to have her picture taken.. Julio can take the most beautifull pictures, but with her it goes up and down!

I wish I had taken some photos at Bird Paradise this weekend. I have never seen so many sweet faces! Two of them had even gotten out of their little enclosure (no big since the room was sealed and they were clipped), and were climbing all over the place! Lovebirds are so spunky. I love these baby-to-adult photos! What a change!
