should palm oil be refrigerated?

:Si thought nothing off putting the small bottles in the fridge becuase i could not see what was going on behind the blue bottle

since having the big tub (yipee!) ive noticed the bottle half has turned darker

i do not need to make it into liquid becuase you can easily spoon it out and do not need to fight with the small ones anymore (but they were good for making bread!)

i can't see anything on both pots about it being refrigerator so i wonder why i always do :S

Mine says to keep refrigerated and I do.

It depends on how much you have and how old it is. It can have a 1 year shelf life, and doesn't need to be refrigerated. Refrigeration will extend the shelf life to about three years. If you will use it within a year and know how fresh it is, you don't NEED to refrigerate it. Palm oil will separate as it sits It's just squeezed out of the palm fruit, so it can have pulpy or more solid parts that settle to the bottom. When it's heated and stirred up, it's fine. I keep a large jar in the refrigerator and a small jar sits out.

Read what yours says...there are different Palm oils made different ways....so you have to know what yours says...

I keep mine in the refrigerator cause it's easier to get out that way and doesn't get all over my hands if its in the refrigerator.

I didn't but I agree it was quite messy when in liquid form. I think my next bottle will be kept in the fridge.
