A friend of mine ignored my warning to take the bird to the vet.
I told him that the parakeet was getting a disease in its beak that could spread to other parts of the bird and other birds in the cage.
After a few months I visit him again at his home and I see the bird biting unusually biting their feet, i saw has scaly mites on the beak, in a part of the cheek attached to the beak, the wax above the beak, and the feet, often damaging its own feet.. I passed out and I called names and so on... - What makes me most irritated is the fact that I told to go to an ophthalmologist and buy some glasses so that she can also see better up close because it becomes clear that she can see very badly when near and she only proved me right when one day I identified several situations in a day how bad she was seeing. Even if she sees poorly, there are no excuses because a few minutes of attention was enough to understand that something was wrong with the that bird. - Gladly she went to a veterinary I will wait news.
I would like to know from you what you use and what processes you use to care for a bird with this disease (scaly mites).
I've never had mine with this problem and it would be a way to learn and know what You do and don't do.
For now, I told she should separate this bird from the other birds, but putting them near. Being convenient even do that while the bird is under treatment. I tell to wash the cage, cage objects and even buying new perches if she need and toys... maybe I'm exaggerating a little but I've always liked to play it safe and I've always had success when I do that.
I want to know about your experience and hints. Better than looking over the internet with weird ideas and so on.
Soon I will learn and share what a veterinarian said and gave. -
