I am so upset. I went to get Coby out of his brooder to feed him, and found he was breathing with his mouth open and kind of gasping for air. I rang the vet I normally go to, and they were closed, so I rang another vet hospital that is not far from where we live, and they said to bring him in immediately, however they were closing in 25 mins, so it was a huge rush. Got there 5 minutes before they closed, I explained to her what happened, and she said Coby will have to stay there and they will put him in one of their humidifier/oxygen tanks and give him antibiotics/fluid via injections after tests. Just have to wait until tomorrow to get an update now, unless something happens, I will get a call sooner.

Hopefully since I took him in straight away, he will be okay. I am so scared I am going to lose him…

I don't have the other sibling.. she or he passed away, I had a necropsy done and the crop was infected with Candida. (this was about a month ago) Now Coby has gone down hill, I had tests done, everything came back normal. Coby is showing one of the same symptoms as the sibling, but we don't believe it is the same thing because Coby's crop is emptying perfectly, not slowly and he doesn't have any other signs of Candida, so it might be respiratory related. He wasn't too warm, had him sitting out of the brooder for 10 minutes and he was still breathing with his mouth open once we got to the vets. If only it was just that. I am having the worst luck.. I have hand-fed 20+ babies and for the quite a few years I have been hand-feeding this has NEVER happened.

Do you think he may have aspirated some formula?

You took in three Alexandrine chicks, didn't you? Is the last sibling still alright?
