What lower cost large cages (3/4 spacing) do folks use for outdoor time (keeping the cage outdoor as opposed to rolling it in and out)? I’d like to get a larger outdoor cage and can’t afford an aviary. Or do you just cover it with a plastic cover in inclement weather? Or coat it with something bird safe? Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I was gonna suggest a Kings aluminum as well but they are quite pricey.

Looks pretty but i'd be worried about mould and birds chewing through the wood (unless they're not left alone in there)

Where are you seeing that for sale? Looks cool for small birds who can't chew through the wood quickly.

Hmmm then maybe it would work for my purposes. It’s only for supervised use to get daily sun. The cage we use right now for that is small.

I had something like this. Would not recommend this at all for outdoor use. The wood is painted orange so will be dangerous for birds to chew and swallow it. And the paint fades after a while. The mesh is very dangerous too i think it was zinc coated and you could literally just pinch the mesh and have bits of zinc coating fall out onto ur hand. Would not recommend this cage at all was so disappointed when it got delivered to me and it was 100 percent unsafe for my birds. Also, in rain the wood will likely mould And become weak enough to be easily broken. If you’d like an outdoor cage find something preferably metal because these specific type of cages (orange painted, green roof) are not at all good.

Thanks for letting me know. Definitely wouldn’t risk it.
