These two little darlings joined our family recently, so I had to share! Bourkes parakeets don’t seem to be a common species available in our Canadian city of Ottawa. We are overall bird enthusiasts and have been so thrilled to have discovered the wonderful Rosey Bourke.

“Bluebird” joined us first through a re-homing situation and was our first introduction to these gentle little souls. It was shortly after that we decided we would love to have another! “Little Crickets” is the new baby on the block and we are all so in love. Their cheeps and beeps are just the sweetest! They are gorgeous, but for me it's a really sad photo as they are clipped. I really hope you allow their flights to grow in and allow them to keep their flights. They are even more amazing when flying!

Breeding them is even better!
The only down side is when the young ones leave the nest, they pretty well throw themselves out at 100km/hr, straight into the aviary wire (no injury's have ever happened though)

Thanks
