sadly there's no squirrels where i live :(
plenty of sulfur crests and rainbow lorikeets though!
Guessing you are in Australia? Would love to see wild sulfer crests and rainbow lorikeets!

Interesting how your magpies are different, Shezbug. I believe US robins are very different to ours in the UK.
Ours are larger.

Never seem a tuft on a squirrel's ears (that I know of).

Indian magpie robins are similar like yours, but never seen such cutie squirrel... Lots of striped squirrels here.

Just Googled Indian magpie robin - yes, certainly a similar shape. :) Striped squirrels??? Never seen a striped squirrel!!

Our magpies are rebels! I love them to bits but many people don’t like them. Every year at breeding season time the tv has adverts and short news reports reminding people how to stay safe around them. Some are so territorial and dangerous that wildlife rangers have to step in and remove birds :(
We always befriend our local magpies and we’re always spared from their scary incessant swooping attacks. We actually have a few families of them that visit our yard- we can feed them by hand but we only do it every now and then so as not to interfere with their diet or natural behaviours.
