Question about macaw beaks

Hello my yellow collared macaw beak turning white, didn’t really think much of it as it doesn’t hurt him when I touch his beak. Is this a very bad thing? Not sure if it can cause it but he does run his beak on the hard surfaces a lot

I think beak scratches or scuffs will look whitish.

The whitish tinge or section in a YCM beak is normal from what I know and have seen. I have never seen a YCM with a solid black beak. A closer pic of what you are concerned about might narrow down if we are talking about the same patch of white

best I can get of the white, moves too much

Looks perfectly normal to me going on all the other YCM's I have seen.

I quite like that pic... looks like you have quite the character dressed in them feathers lol

If you do a quick google search for pics of YCM's you will find many pics of them with the same kind of appearance to their beak as yours has

Yeah cheeky and bites a lot. I wear headphones a lot so when I don’t he goes for the ears
