Of course all of these things and today all 3 decide to perch on the shadow boxes with family memorabilia. My office has officially gone to the birds! It is currently more of an aviary with my computers in it than a human’s office. All three are big players so we added lots of places to climb. They also enjoy flying back and forth across the room. Puk especially likes what we call “hot laps” from cage to cage. View attachment 444314 View attachment 444315 View attachment 444316
Your setup is amazing!! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that larger tree/branch in the first picture for the birdies to sit on? I'm looking to find one like that or even attempt to make it myself but I am by no means a crafty personMy office has officially gone to the birds! I got it in my backyard! I did a lot of googling and tree identification to make sure it was a safe wood. I cut it down to size and sprayed it down with some soapy water and left it to dry for a day. The stand is just a $30 Christmas tree stand from Amazon.Your setup is amazing!! If you don't mind me asking, where did you get that larger tree/branch in the first picture for the birdies to sit on? Looks fantastic!!But I think I have provided by pair with the best set up for them
It is best for cages to be wider than they are tall but it looks okay as long as you are going to get a bigger one sometime soon and your bird gets plenty of out time!Is this cage big enough for a cockatiel? Sorry the picture is so fuzzy. View attachment 448671 View attachment 448672
Thanks! I work at home so the cage is mainly going to be used for a sleep cage and when I have guests. It is best for cages to be wider than they are tall but it looks okay as long as you are going to get a bigger one sometime soon and your bird gets plenty of out time!
It would be best also to use stainless steel food/water bowls.
I posted Apollo the conure's cage awhile back, but now I also have a new quaker and have upgraded both of their cages within the past couple of weeks.
Quaker came with a corner cage, but I wanted to give him a bit more room so I ordered the new Borneo cage from exotic nutrition. It occurred to me that I might be able to attach the two to make a mega frankencage, so i ended up doing that. The dimensions of the cage sides aren't the same, so I came up with a solution by taking one of the panels off the corner cage, taking the feeder doors off the borneo, zip tying the two cages together, and using the feeder door openings as doorways between the two cages (so the sides don't need to be the same size, as long as the the corner cage is flush against the side of the borneo).

So then I figured why not upgrade Apollo's cage too? This was easier since he had a double critter nation, so I just needed to order another double cn and take a side panel off.

Filling up the extra space with more perches and toys is a work in progress, but that's what everything looks like now.
The two six foot long bird cages are now taking up a big chunk of my bedroom though. This is how I have them arranged in the room so that they both are able to look out the window and can get close-ish to one another and interact if they so choose (currently there's some sibling rivalry going on, but I'm hoping that over time they will warm up to one another).
