After being on the wait list with Patty's Pets for a while, they called a few months back tp say I was up on the list, and offered me a Dusky baby. They are in Tampa, and I'm in Phoenix, so baby had to be shipped to me via Delta Cargo. He will only ship babies on a direct flight, and LAX was the closest airport with a direct flight, so two weeks ago we drove from Phoenix to Los Angeles to meet baby Jasper's flight at LAX, then immediately drove back home. He did fantastic in his travel cage for the 7 hour drive, and has settled in nicely. He's SUPER clumsy and vastly overestimates his own climbing abilities, and tends to fling himself toward where he wants to go instead of taking the time to climb down. We're working on it. :)

He sounds completely different than my Maxis that ended up talking, but most of them adopted my voice and sound like drunken pirates. It's a cool bonus as they aren't known as good talkers but obviously some sure do. Lurch had all kinds of odd phrases and was learning from me too, Dobby mostly says Dobby, Dobby good boy, Hi Dobby and I'm sure he knows more but they say what they like.
Listen for him to practice when he's alone, it's hilarious. Lurch was practicing HELLO in every inflection he could think of one morning :hilarious:

It always cracks me up when they practice their new words. Jasper actually says "Hi Jasper" in a much lower pitch voice as well, which is my husband's. It's almost creepy, like he has a split personality. I haven't gotten that on video yet.
