I have lived in the middle of nowhere and I know what it’s like. If you feel up to it you could towel the Quaker and just take the tips off of his nails. One or two millimeters, if you use the metric side of a ruler you can see what a millimeter is. You could even take it off with people nail clippers when they’re so long. The cat claw guillotine scissors work the easiest but nail clippers will work.
I wish I could help but I am an airplane ride away. If you are interested I can find directions online. I think if you can clip dog nails this isn’t much different.

I used to do my own dog's nails. Between my eyesight issues and battles with trigger thumb/trigger finger and pretty bad arthritis in my hands, the last time I did them I cut both of them pretty severely. Lost my confidence now.

Oscar attacks any thing that comes into his space. He's already getting better. Today he let me reach into the bottom half with a damp rag to clean without going absolutely insane! Screaming, but no lunging or hissing this time. I really don't want to ruin our progress. I'm sure I can get him in at the regular vet. I got a few closeups of his foot eating a pumpkin seed. What do you think? I may have exaggerated a bit when I called his nails circles! Beginning spirals is closer!

That’s too bad. It sounds like you wouldn’t be able to trim his nails. I wasn’t sure why you didn’t consider it but hand arthritis is a very good reason.
I’m looking at that foot closeup but there are bars blocking view of most of his claws. The bottom claw in that view looks very long.

They’re quite Long. I have seen worse but yes, they really need to be trimmed.

I personally wouldn’t try cutting them yourself they are dark nails and would be really hard to see the quick

My guess is that you’d take the length down in a couple of clips. The quick may have grown out long so I’d remove a millimeter or fraction of and inch and wait a few weeks. But AllenJ has stated they can’t do the clip themselves with hand arthritis.

I clip my neighbor’s birds’ nails. I’m lucky myself that Jasper has a pedicure perch in front of her food dish and Willow keeps his nail trimmed by nibbling them.
