How long did you starve them before giving them the carrot?

Omg, not a single bird of mine will touch them let alone eat them! It's the plagued vegetable, that and anything leafy!

I know right? Raw Carrot! I wouldn't even give them seconds as I didn't want them to think it was healthy. Lol

Oh I totally get that, how your feeling.....some times a bird will throw a real surprise your way.
Have had it happen more than once.
Just tickles you all over with joy, no other way to really explain it. Yep I surely get it.

Mine will ONLY eat it if I make thick shavings; that's not on the regular, either. Birds are weird.

Yay, what a turn of events!

I discovered mine love whole veggies if they come in a certain size... So, I clip baby carrots, mini sweet peppers, broccoli spears with the stem trimmed, and baby zucchini to their cages and playstand now and its arty1: time for their beakies!
