So, Penny Lane arrives tomorow.
I think I mentioned that she has an injury from sticking her head through the bars of her first cage....I guess another baby, slightly older, bit her beak while she was doing this. So around her cere she has a small cut.....
...I just got an email from the breeder saying the scab has re-opened and baby Penny keeps picking at it. So thats going to be one challenge of her coming home.
Another is that the breeder feels she might need a few comfort feedings. Im not sure I know how to do that as Pru never needed them, but I know you great folk here do The breeder is going to provide the formula....so I will let you know if I need advice.
She sent some pics of Penny's cut, but they keep loading up too tiny to see anything so I will just take my own photos for you when she gets here.
We couldnt find an adequatly sized cage in time for her arrival, so we are going to give her Chiquittas old cage for now. I dont feel horribly bad about that as I remember that when Pru first came home she had a super hard time getting around in her huge cage, for at least 2 months.
So, Chiquittas tony little cage might be ideal until she gets better at using her beak and such.
We are shopping around for a cage the same size as Pru's for the near future.
We are excited! I will keep you posted.
