Peanut has been on a broad spectrum antibiotic for a few days now and did a really good poo today, more solid and less watery. Only bird owners can understand the joys of a healthy poo LOL!
We had a good cuddle before and after his medicating today. Baytril tastes super nasty, poor guy.

Hana too. It's the only time I've ever seen a bird to a full body shudder and gag (poor baby!). Considering birds have fewer taste buds, eat hot peppers without batting a lash, it says something that Baytril is so nasty it gags a bird. They couldn't add some sugar? Hana has three more doses to go; Peanut has our complete empathy.

Do you know what kind? Peanut's illness began with a protozoa problem (giardia). Not sure why he's still sick though.

Yes, poor Peanut those pics with her eyes closed are precious...we were on Cipro almost 3 weeks! ( klebs. Pneum) my Bella lost a scary lot of weight. So a good poo DOES mean a lot. Best to poor Oskar as well. And Hana! Poor babies all. And I love the new siggie too!

It's scary when they lose weight. Peanut is usually 88g but is anywhere between 76g and 84g these days. He eats and drinks a lot but it goes right through him.

Be strong I know how you feel antibiotics wipe you out and I hate feeling this way I can not imagine how your little size it would effect you . AND Mel don't worry hun the nut will get better but my and my flocks prayer's are with you and your nut

Thank you Jim. He has been sick for over a year. Our avian vet says he looks good for a bird who's been sick for so long. He's a fighter! I'm afraid to find him gone one morning but we just enjoy each day!
