@Fuzzy's first post says that Ollie is on Celebrex (the main drug discussed in that article) and Gabapentin. I know one of the vets that Fuzzy uses and Ollie really does have access to excellent veterinary care. They would have explored all options. I know you mean to help, but sadly I think the time has come to proritise Ollie's comfort rather than trying to manage the disease.

Ollie has been on Celebrex and Gabapentin since the end of April. Maybe if we had started him on the meds earlier it would have been more effective? I don't know. Unfortunately, living in a place where there are no avian vets, it took me a while to do the research myself and then pass it on. However I have been learning from a few of the top US vets like Dr Bob Dahlhausen (his videos and comments) and Dr Todd Driggers (a webinar), plus a knowledgable ABV/PDD/AG group on Facebook and information I got from some lovely individuals on this site.

Ollie was managing to maintain his weight for quite a while. Then from March of this year, the weight has slowly been going down. In the last few months the weight loss has become much more rapid. At one point he was losing 4 - 5gms per day despite formula feeds etc. I have had to stop some of the herbs as they were putting him off eating. But still keeping the Milk Thistle, DMG, Flax oil (omega 3), digestive enzymes, MGN-3, some probiotics and sometimes Slippery Elm. Have had to stop the CBD oil, St John's Wort, Echinacea and Astragalus root.

I will never stop trying to get him well/put weight on, but I guess in reality it is as tka said... "to prioritise Ollie's comfort rather than trying to manage the disease".
