Hey,
I found these candles. Wondered what your guys opinion is and if ever someone has used them?
Also are candle warmers safe? Cause I just wanted to get the wax melt and put them on a plate under a candle warmer.

I don’t think anything that disperses stuff in the air is truly safe for birds. Hopefully people with more knowledge will be able to better answer your question

If the scent comes from anything like essential oils (which are frequently touted as safe but as very far from being so) they’re not a safe candle.

I can’t tell if I’m looking in the wrong place or what, but I can’t find anywhere that it says where the scents come from. It says “non harmful oils” but what oils are they saying aren’t harmful?
Going to send them an email about it. Thank you so much for your help untill now.

I do not trust them as far as I could throw them.

They have the lab results there, but these weer not tested to see if they were safe for birds. And there's no results for air quality. It is likely these were tested to see if they were safe to be sold as candles (for humans).

@kiertje I am not sure what it is you are looking for? The dim flicker light? the scent? old habit? But most can be replaced without using any candles. Nothing we burn is bird safe. No essential oils are bird safe. So I would be very skeptical about any candle that is supposed to be lit being sold as "bird safe". And if we are not sure, I personally do not thinkg we should ever be risking our birds health for it.

There was another thread on these recently. Their blurb concerns me as it only states they use “safer” materials… safer does not mean healthy or of no problem.

Yeah kinda miss the flickering at night and the scent in the house. Really love vanilla candles. So when I saw these I thought it could be something okay, that's why I wanted your guys opinion on it, cause not sure what I should look out for.
My friend already said maybe you can get fake electric candles, so gues I will be ordering those ^^.
If you guys have any tips for the scent

If you like vanilla then you can just use some vanilla essence on a cotton ball and place around the room. We used to use them in the fridge so the fridge always smelled yummy.

A tiny crockpot fill half way with water, add apple peels and cinnamon sticks, or orange peels and cloves. You can also add vanilla beans, lemon peels, lime peels, tangerine peels, grapefruit peels.

Beeswax and soy candles without added fragrances or essential oils are the safest options. Even then, I only burn them in a well-ventilated room away from my birds.

Why burn them at all?

I've seen them but don't trust it. Pretty much every aspect of candles - smoke, essential oils, assorted VOCs - is not recommended for parrots, so I'm not even sure how a candle *could* be made safe. It's just not worth the risk to me. It's already enough work trying to ensure my birds are healthy with diet/environment/random issues, without adding potential problems.

The wick can actually be more dangerous than the melting wax. Any time there is combustion (including when you cook), you are releasing troublesome inhalants into the air. I've lit a handmade beeswax candle with a cotton wick in another part of the house because that's really no worse than frying an egg or making toast, but it's really not worth all the trouble.

You could melt pure beeswax just fine, that's no worse than melting butter-- but just like butter it can overheat, burn, etc. It's very believable that there are parrot-safe wax melts, but if you didn't make it yourself you can't be 100% sure, and why bother buying those vs. a simmer pot? The safest thing to do is simmer some ingredients in water for the smell and use electric candles for the flicker. I'd also avoid essential oils, even ones from "safe" plants, because they concentrate ingredients in a way that can be irritating. Heat up a little orange peel with vanilla or even a few cheap teabags, it's lovely!

I’ve been super careful with anything scented around my birds, and even some "natural" candles can still have risky ingredients. One thing I’ve done is switch to pure beeswax with no added fragrances, just to be safe. I also use tea lights in Chinese candle holders because they help control airflow and prevent soot buildup. It’s surprising how many everyday things can be harmful, so I always double-check everything before using it.
