Paint bottles in same room as bird?

Hi, I've been slowly getting ready to have a bird in my life (again). I've been bird proofing my room best I can. But I think I had a realization tonight. I'm a crafty person and artist. I have a shelf in my room with supplies on it, including fabric paint and varnish. It's just tiny bottles, with lids always closed. I never paint in my room, I just store the stuff in my room. But I was wondering if birds are able to smell the chemicals through the bottles? As far as I know the bottles don't give off an odor. I have an air purifier too. But anyway I don't want to risk anything. Should I store them in another room away?

It should be fine as long as the bottles are properly closed! But I would make sure that the outside of the bottles are clean and don’t have any residue.

That being said, depending on how big of a bird you’re looking into and how secure the bottle caps are, it may be a good idea to store them somewhere more secure or inside of a bin with a lid to avoid the possibility of your future bird getting into the paints.

Wishing you luck with getting a new bird!

Thank you for the response! I definitely try to keep my paint bottles clean on the outside so there shouldn't be any residue. I'm wanting a cockatiel for reference.

It will be completely fine keeping closed paint bottles near your bird.

My son has literally hundreds and hundreds of paint bottles (like so many he even has the same racks stores have them) for painting his 3D models that he sells. He also keeps many other chemicals in closed bottles in the house or right next to one of my bird cages.
Closed containers should not be allowing fumes out.
