but not completely new to parrots, and picked up 2 F Greys, per the closed bands, one light blue, one silver, 24yr old, and 17yr old per the dates, one left leg, one right, , and now need to decipher the letters. Going very slow when they present their heads for a scratch bec they'll often snap right around and try to bite

Sorta meant to be, bec I wasn't looking and hadn't been on my want ad addiction for quite some time, but I picked up a Valley Trader, local ads newspaper, and scanned everything as usual and Bingo!, there's an ad for 2! with lg cages. I didn't want 2, but the 24yr old was a sorta rescue bec she'd been relegated alone to the garage by the previous, previous owner and started over preening, so... And now 2mos later with a varied diet, weather permitting daily sunshine, she's very close to full feather. And strangely enough, lonely girl Margie is the most talkative, wild sounds mimic. Digital phone ring, microwave, backing up vehicle beep-beep-beep, 'peanut', 'cracker', 'pretty girl', 'hello', tons of sounds & whistles that we repeat to each other, and says many other words that I can't quite make out bec they're much quieter talk, but she seems aggressive and I haven't yet chanced my hand but working up to it

Thank you so much for sharing your story, and for taking on these beautiful girls...I'm sure with time, patience and loving care they will blossom into the special birds they are meant to be. I speak from experience, my amazing IQ came to me wild caught and abused. Everyone said he would never be more than a screaming, growling, biting ornament in a cage...I'm always happy to say we proved them all wrong. I hope you'll keep us updated on your girls and their journey with you and each other.

Life has become a very different experience without my life long companion and originally I swore there would never be another big bird if IQ flew before me, but I've decided that isn't the best choice after all. Wish me luck in finding another beautiful little ball of grey feathers who needs a forever home.

I'm perplexed by the youngster's behavior. One day she seems friendly and takes a cracker, and the next she bites it like she's angry, leaves it, hunkered down with feathers fluffed & wings out. Any clues? I'll see if I can get a vid
