My 17 year old sun conure, who was diagnosed with cancer in mid-August has since laid two eggs (her first two ever).

Can someone describe what normal posture is for a bird a day or two after the egg was laid?

She is laying next to the egg, feathers fluffed, head forward & resting with her eyes closed.

This looks a scary but for all I know this is normal.

Can those who have seen many nesting birds help me out?

Thanks,

Rebecca

P.S. She's eating, drinking, pooping, having some difficulty walking on flat surfaces but just a little shaky on her perches.

all mine actually Lay on the eggs not beside them They incubate them by laying on them

It's something like this - but keep in mind They moved when I opened the nest lid So its more like the one in the back not the one in the front looking up at the camera She was laying on the baby though until I opened the lid
