hi,
my cockatiel had a night trashing incident today night. She was sleeping in another room n i woke up to the sound of her trashing. i dont know for how long she was doing so, I wish i had woken up earlier. She has lost all her primary flight feathers due to the trashing from one wing-around 7. she has had night trashing before but never lost so many feathers.
i dont know how that happened. she is moulting rt now & many of the feathers were new ones which had recently come. are feathers weaker when they are new? for them to have come off like that.
She preened herself for an hour after that & then slept. she is not tail bobbing. can i rule out any internal injury to her. any sings i should look for?
thank you..
she usually sleeps with me but she is laying eggs excessively since a year & got eggbound twice so ive put her in another room for the night since two months so that she gets 12hrs of sleep. she dosent like sleeping alone though & she is quite a jittery bird.
