Hi! I just bought a sun conure and I'm really excited about it. The woman I'm getting my female sun conure from is willing to (try) to get a green cheek conure with her in the same cage so that I can buy two. I can't have two cages in my home. My question is, has anyone else had experience with two different birds in the same cage? I was thinking to do this to make her happy but since it's two different types of bird (1) and 2, they're both females...

With that size difference, if it doesn't work out, the sun conure can kill the green cheek.

Babies can sometimes get along but when puberty hits, they may fight. Do you have a backup plan for if they need to be separated?

Even with same species, it's usually advisable to have separate cages to start and let them make the decision to move in together. My Quaker and Green cheek were great friends, but they didn't tolerate sleeping together.

Definitely need two cages for those two birds, as said above.

Welcome! If you truly cannot have 2 cages, do not get 2 birds.

Welcome to the forum. I agree with what others have already said. There is no guaranty that any 2 birds will want to share a cage and definitely different beak sizes usually isn't a good idea.

I have two green cheeks they are the best of freinds but both sleep in seperate cages, my yellowside wouldnt survive a week in a cage with my pineapple and she lets me know she doesnt want to be in the same cage as Mojo by just flying out of the cage when Mojo heads in and she feels threatened, out of the cage she can look after herself and can fly away if needed.
They have a 9 gram difference in weight and same beak size, the breeder shouldnt even consider this.
