New owner tips please

Hi guys! So I’m planning to purchase two budgies, and I’m looking for some helpful tips.
For example, what food to give them, what toys are the most fun and safe, etc. I want to give them the best care and help that they need.

...and I will be needing name suggestions as well! Thanks so much!

You will need a larger cage than marketed for budgies. Be aware of bar spacing. Look on Facebook market place, Craigslist ect for used but Excellent condition cages no rust! Do not accept old perches or toys tho. And give an excellent cleaning of 360 every single bar inside and outside of cage. I found 3 of mine this way and they were like brand new condition for very cheap.

Budgies Can love love fresh vegetables!! So start offering from day one in addition to their food. Leafy greens like romaine lettuce, Swiss chard, human grade dandelion greens. Bell pepper all, but I think yellow is preferred by mine.

Have some short wide perchs as an option make tge ok symbol with your hand i would have at least one that big around

You can look if anyone in your area has free stuff on freecycle.com too. That is how I got a second cage and a travel cage.
I too am new with budgies, or any bird for that matter. I had asked a bunch of questions in the Species > Budgie section and got really helpful answers from these people as well.
My bird does not eat veggies I give him, but he has a bowl of seed mixture and one for pellets. So he can pick what he wants, and that is always the seeds.

Welcome! I would heavily recommend bird-proofing your house and fully setting up before you get your budgies. I would also recommend not purchasing from petstores, as they can be sick from breeding mills. Try to rather find a reputable breeder in your area Best of luck!
