After losing my fostered babies, and discussing it with Carole...I separated my breeding BN pairs from the the BN colony. I had some extra tiel cages and we cut and connected them to make a larger breeding cage unit and put the BN in there.
I hung the platform nests and one pair went to nest, and I was excited, but as the eggs hatched the babies disappeared.
I noticed that Ruby started a nest and had eggs and a baby hatched out. Today I got brave and looked and there were three nice well fed babies. Which is a first...meaning getting past just one baby at a time.
This morning I put some fresh moss in the bottom of the cage, and pinks and her mate raced down and started a nest in the opposite corner of the cage. I almost got a pix of her laying an egg....
