You’d think the companies that cater to bird needs would know to make better cages…Right?

Currently I have a 32x18x64(on stand) flight cage for Peep. It’s a decent sized cage but the width is just….awkward. Honestly makes it difficult to supply it with suitable toys and perches.

I’m looking for a similar cage with similar dimensions, but not a cage that goes all the way to the floor ‍

The best I’ve found is the same cage but a 21” width instead of 18. Honestly, it would make a difference but I want something…more. Just wider, and maybe slightly lengthier. But I can’t find anything decent anywhere it’s absurd.

Picture attached to show his current cage and what I’m looking for but *bigger*

Have you tried the cage from Petco I believe is called the You and Me cage? I can't link at the moment but I'm fairly certain that's the name. It's a large and very roomy brown cage with double doors and a playstand on top. I wanted it badly for my Green Cheek as it's perfect small sized spacing but it literally was too wide to fit in the room.

Your bird is a climber. from the Amazon forest. No 8 inch trees there IMG_20240702_130624 (1).jpg

I have 13 caiques. One of them will sit still in a small cage in the centre of the room and watch

ONE OF THEM

THE REST ARE WHIRLING DEMONS

They will eat their way out of a small cage in minutes, or worse, pluck their own feathers raw in frustration

Agree - that is too narrow! It’s like keeping a bird in a picture frame. The HQ and AE flight cages are a little wider, the copy cate cages are often not.

I lucked out and got Epandable Habitats for my guys.

The cage that @April suggests is a good one I believe.

Also, check out this company. They are not cheap, but they have some good bigger options.

I’ve bought at least one cage from this company and have been happy with them, although it was awhile ago. I wanted a HQ hire double flight cage and they let me know when they got one available. I literally had it 1-2 days later.

Hope this helps!

I have two caiques and wanted to make sure their main cage was very large. I put two 64” X 19” cages together by removing the backs of the cages (using a Dremel tool) in order to make a giant 64” X 38”. I used zip-ties to bind the cages together. It can still be rolled around as one large cage. If I need to I can still use the dividers that came with each cage to separate the large cage into two separate areas - though I have never had to do that and don’t plan to. Each one of the cages cost around $160 on Amazon. I have attached some pictures to show the house I made for them (I hate the term cage…). Both birds have their own bedroom and are out the entire day (when they are not downstairs or out on the deck with me). I made platforms in the windows for them to play on, there is another large single cage they can play in, and also a tree for them to play on. Ropes go to each area so they can easily walk anywhere (one can fly, the other had some feather problems on one wing and will hopefully be able to fly later).
