They are beautiful.......by you saying ....." My new breeders" .......does that mean no toys, no handling, no lovings, no out of cage time ???? ........ That sounds very sad and depressing to me :(:mad::(.....

They'll be put in my huuuuge aviary tomorrow. Not that huge but 8ftx8ft and 8ft tall. That's just their transport cage. They came from a 24x12inch cage So im sure they'll love it. I just couldn't wait to upload a picture. My lovies always get toys. Even the breeders.

Why do so many people here think of the worst scenario first?:confused:

:welcome: Aboard Jorge. Nice birds and don't be put off by any negative comment. If Avian Avenue is ever to truly realise its potential and become a properly rounded forum then it needs representation from people such as yourself. Every bird on this forum was bred somewhere, sometime, by someone, no matter where they acquired it from.

Unfortunately Carole, that is how they've been conditioned to think here. :(

It is so detrimental. Not only to others, but also to yourself.

Gosh, that statement is outrageous and what an insult.

Jorge your lovies are lovely. They surely will thrive in their new aviary and I look forward to pictures.

Very pretty, so I don't know much about the genetics of birds and breeding, but I do know breeding dogs. What kinds of colors do you get or does it matter when you breed colors to color?

They should really enjoy the aviary. What other birds are in the aviary? Are you breeding for a certain color. They sure are cute and thanks for sharing.

Thanks all for the comments!!

Male is lutino / cinnamon opaline with lutino hen split blue.. That's what the breeder told me.
They might make those lutinos that have the brown stripe on their flight feathers.
Honestly I don't really care. They're cute together and they couldn't stop "grooming" each other when I saw them. And also I've never had an orange headed lovie.
Since they've never been in a flight cage with other birds they'll be alone for a couple of days and if they show interest in my two pairs of lovies in the aviary next to them I'll put them in there after they're used to flying and all.

Compliments for your new pair;
I'm seeing a green opaline and a stunning lutino;
Both the mutations are sex linked;
If the lutino were a female,then (teorically) the offspring would consist of opaline females and green (split opaline and split Ino) males with few chance (3%) of getting crossing-over genes (Opaline-Ino) as well;
I'm curious to see how the offspring will really become;
Compliments again for your choise;
