My Miracle Bird

A few of you have been following the saga of Kevin, my sweet cockatiel who was paralyzed in both legs/feet after a severe head injury 3.5 months ago. (You can find more threads on her in Special Needs.) Her recovery has been slow but dramatic -- probably never 100% but absolutely functional. Tonight for the first time since her injury, she jumped on her favorite swing and didn't fall. I just had to share with everyone one example of how resilient our littles can be.

Yes! They're still not 100% strength but considering she was literally flat on her belly a couple months ago, it's amazing.

I work in medical rehab for humans with brain injuries, so it kinda worked out in that sense.
