Mouse bird fledgling

Hi there, I found a little mouse bird fledgling and I can't seem to get it to eat much at all. I have tried giving it some mashed banana but it literally has one mouth full then refuses to open its beak again.
It has survived the night and I want to give it the best chance to keep going.
Any advice on how to get the little thing to eat or drink?
I'm based in Alberton, Gauteng.

Hi Zara, thanks so much. Yes, I have read through all previous mousebird posts and have tried what was suggested but my little one still refuses to open it's mouth for food. It literally only takes one mouthfull and then I can't seem to get it to open it's beak again. Not sure what to do.

Is the mashed banana too thick?

You could try calling Sarah, she´s quite a way away from you down in Durban but she works in a rehab centre and may be able to give advice over the phone, worth asking anyway..
