I've been speaking to a linnie breeder for quite some time now. (she is completely lovely by the way, just very kind as a person)
The news is that there is a pair sitting on four eggs, right now. :3 Due to hatch soon. I can't wait to see what colors pop out.

Good luck. Has this pair raised chicks before? What are the colors of the parents?

The male has but this is the first time for the female.

Male is a cobalt greywing and the female is turquoise.

The only color the chicks can be are cobalt or turquoise ( or creamino if the male is split) and they can also be grey wings.

I'm hoping for greywings but turquoise and cobalt are lovely colors.
No idea if the male is split, but creamino is also a favorite of mine.

Two of the eggs didn't hatch, for whatever reason and I will not be getting either of the other two because Xiro is taking so much time/energy/attention from me right now among other things. I will still be getting a linnie, just not right now.

Well, here we are again on the linnie issue.
The breeder recently had an amazing clutch of four, two of which were DF greywings in turquoise and cobalt. They were darling.
In this clutch there was a SF turq boy who is, I think, mine. He's actually ready to come home now, but I believe I'll be waiting for some company for him from a different clutch. There is a pair on four eggs and I can only hope the bird I have been waiting nearly a year for is among them.

Here is the boy:

Just spoke to the breeder. She has moved him into a flight with other birds being held back for one reason or another.
His disposition remains very sweet. She says he is passionate about his food and has the best personality of the bunch. :xflove:

When do you expect to get him? What drew you to Linnies?

I don't know. It depends on if there is a cagemate I am drawn to hatched from a nest of four eggs now. Should there be another linnie in there for me I won't be taking him home until the second one is weaned and ready.
Should there be no such linnie in this clutch for me, I imagine I will take him home sooner.

I suppose I was drawn to linnies in much the same way I was drawn to a vasa. And they seem similar to me. Very unique vocalizations and a love of baths. Strange parrots.
I'd decided to stick to littles after Vinyet and the linnie is my favorite little. I love the sounds they make and would love to have that noise in my home. I love their huge eyes and oddly long feet. I am not a fan of how fast their nails grow but I'll get over that.
I enjoy their mannerisms. The movements and poses they are prone to. I love that they hold hands to mate.

Their vocalizations are unique and pleasant to the ear. The only negative about the Linnies is the droppings. Big and loose. They eat like little piggies.

Indeed, the droppings. And yet I think it will be markedly better than the droppings of a larger bird, just for size. :roflmao:
I'd be happy to have a voracious eater. In fact the breeder says my boy is much of one as it is. I'm very excited.
