Mirror?

Hi I am kind of new but really want a parakeet but I have school for 7 hours and I don't know if I should get a mirror or not, I have read from both sides saying "oh mirrors help my bird stay happy when I am gone and s/he loves he/r mirror" but also "mirrors made my bird depressed they got to attached to their mirror and when I took it out s/he got depressed" or even (this is only for male birds really) "my bird threw up on my mirror because he though its reflection was its mate". So as you can see I am very lost and have never had a bird so I want info from the pros I am leaning towards no mirrors and just a big cage lots of outside time (outside of the cage in my house) and extra toys but I don't know.

I would skip the mirror Consider getting 2 parakeets instead. They really do best with a same species friend!
