Meet Jezzy

Hey This is my newest addition Jezzy. She is a seven year old Citron Cockatoo. I got her so my male Citron would have a friend. Right now she is still in quarantine. I got her from a Lady in florida. I was shocked at how bad she was plucked. I have pictures of her. We took her to the vet and she is healthy. We have adjusted her diet and she is now eating birdie breat and pellets along with fresh fruits. She gets alot of showers. I want to help her with the plucking and this is my first severe case of plucking. Any ideas please help!!!!!!!!

i dont think he looks that bad,most i get in have no tail feathers or wing feathers,looks like he has picked for a while,keep him on a great diet blood work to make sure he is ok,and if he grows back GREAT but if he dosent,you have a SEXY male stripper

Did you know that white cockies need more protein than other parrots....my girl will eat her "undie" feathers if I don't give her sufficient protein, breeders have noted that when they increase protein in their breeding pairs diet they produce more healthier offspring. So maybe you could add chicken drumsticks or wings (cooked) boiled egg, legumes, yoghurt (small amount) to her diet...it should help her feather up.

Ashley, sorry I didn't mean to sound cynical and I apologize for that...just so very heart rending when you hear of birds being gotten for other birds but that is fantastic that you are keeping her in and of herself....thank you so much for keeping her..
