This morning when I went to check on the five baby conures I have, the eldest was found deceased. Since then mama bird hasn’t been sitting on the four other babies. She has been feeding them, but I’m worried she isn’t taking proper care of them or might harm them. Should I take them from her and start caring for them or should I leave them? This isn’t her first clutch so I’m not sure what changed.

If she´s not brooding then they need to be transported to a brooder before they get cold. Cold chicks cannot digest food properly and this leeds to a long list of serious problems.

I do have them under a heating lamp, would that work?
