OMG I am so sorry...but pain is not a good thing especially pain that can't be fixed. Maybe he can have pain meds/tramadol while you cherish this time together too. Many hugs to you both.

We did get a small supply of tramadol from vet for the next day. We have moved up to Thursday as vet advised the pressure was most likely causing him incredible pain and as much as we wanted a couple of more days, today will be a all snuggle on our shoulders day and we will say goodbye in the morning. We will let Quakers sleep in the double pak o bird with separation mesh with him tonight under supervision.

We drove to Diamond head for the third time today, even one more day with Butthead in pain was selfish on our part.

Thank you all for kind words and support. His family was with him and said good-bye.



He was a good egg and went to heaven.

I'm so sorry. You are such a great bird "dad" and obviously BH's nature was incredibly gentle and loving, to have such pain but not let it affect him except just a few outbursts. What an amazing bird.
