Yes, we were visiting friends and he was in his small mesh carried. A shrub branch caught on the mesh while I was walking by and tore it. That quickly he was out. Sweetpea is fully flighted and it is windy. He was gone just that fast. My friends, their kids, my husband, the neighborhood kids and people walking their dogs are all looking. I have no idea how far he could have gone in this wind. It's all my fault. I felt the slight pull but thought it was my friends little boy hanging on till it was too late. I kept walking and talking and he went right out. I have posted on 911 parrot, the rescue yahoo group, amberpet, am going to craigslist next.

If I forget something please let me know.

At least within a 5 mile radius. The longer out the further they travel! What species is Sweatpea? Sorry can't remember. I am in Baltimore, so still a good distance from you.
Look in heavily wooded areas where they like to seek out shade in this heat. I am praying for you!

He is a hybrid conure, we are not really sure what species so I just called him a green cheek conure. I used the sun conure poster link and just switched the pictures. I checked in with the searchers and no one has found him. I am taking his cage to set on their roof.
I am going out looking myself now. My ad still isn't showing up on craigslist, and I left a message with the shelter.

Thank you for your prayers. I didn't find him, or even find anyone who saw him. I am feeling really discouraged. It was a nice day and lots of people were out in their back yards with their families. No one glimpsed him flying by and he didn't stop at any BBQ's for food.

I left his cage on their roof. One person got a sprained ankle and is on crutches and another fell and somehow broke two toes. Everyone is sure he is gone, or someone "nice" probably took him in and that I shouldn't worry cause he will find a "good" home. I know they are trying to make me feel better but it really isn't. Since tomorrow is a work day I am the only one who can go looking tomorrow.


I have had a few emails so I know my craiglist ad is getting viewed. Unfortunately they are all people wanting to sell me their bird.

I'm going to go take a shower. I keep thinking of all the birds that came back home (Emma and Sassy) and can only hope someone finds Sweetpea and calls us. I just can't take this on top of Jourdan.

Anna, don't give up hope! It has not been that long. If he gets hungrey enough, he will show himself. Call vets offices in your area tomorrow and the petstores. Prayers work wonders, we have seen the proof! I wish I lived closer or I would surely come and help.

Thank you Judy. This isn't the only place I accidently posted 02 instead of 06. This has made me a total emotinal mess. I just got home and my neighbor told me he didn't know where the staple gun we lent him was and I suddenly broke and started sobbing hysterically and ran home. It has only been a few minutes and the man brought it over and gave it to my husband. I can only imagine what the poor man must think. I have to pull it together. I need to go post signs in other places.

I just have to keep thinking he will be ok.
