Lost cockatiel

I'm posting this on behalf of my friend, Soren.

On 7.10 Soren's dad left the door open while the bird was roaming around. As they realised what is going on they went to close the door, but the bird flew right out the house. Soren set up their cage outside, hoping for their bird to return.

Her name is Ozzy.


Anyone from Palmyra, NY and nearby areas, please help my friend get his birdie back!

Here are the tips I usually post. Maybe you can pass any relevant ideas on?

Have you listed her on www.parrotalert.com ?
Post in facebook groups,
Email all vets (even cats/dogs ones)
create flyers to post in local shops etc
Walk around the streets calling her
Go around the neighbourhood with pictures asking if anyone has seen her
Check neighbours gardens
Check on top of apartment building roofs
Look in the local park in the trees
Advise local animal services (the pound, rescue centres)
Drop a poster off at the police station, fire station

The thing that helped me recover my birdie was to listen for his tweets, by either imitating it or using a recording the tiel could call back

I hope Ozzy is safely back home soon! I suggest leaving a few treats outside (millet is a winner with tiels!), playing bird sounds...hopefully she will be found!

I had advised my friend to do so. If they don't do it, can I list her in my friend's name?

But I learned the answer myself. Left the PA stuff to the owner as I would have to deal with their personal information.
