Ok, here is the story on Sassy. She was purchased off CL from someone who bought her out of nest in PA. They have had her for just 3 weeks. She is 11 weeks old (but I think may be older) and is on 2 HF a day. The avian vet told them not to clipp her till after she had fledged and matured some. She had only flown one time in he home, about 10 ft. She was on her cage and the girlfriend came in and Sassy loves her and flew to her but missed the target and went right out the door. The GF went to get her and she took off and landed at the top of a telephone pole wire. The wind blew her off and she flew into the woods surrounding thier home. The guy climbed a 60 ft tree to get her and halfway there she took off again. Obviously loving the feel of the wind beneath her wings! She flew across the highway into a field. When they got there by car she was gone.
I spent 2 1/2 hours with them looking for her this morning, but no luck. I had to leave due to commitments. I will help again tomorrow. They are in tears. I hate to see grown men cry!
She is on CL, 911 Parrot Alert and I contacted Baltimore Bird Fanciers.
Poor baby is probably very hungrey and it is about 95 degrees here.
