Kakariki male removing eggs

Hi I’ve got a pair of kakarikis that have been in a cage together for 4months i recently opened the nest box and the female started laying the first day she laid i say on camera the male carrying the egg out of the nest onto the cage floor then today i seen on the camera he carried the 2nd out onto the floor and he started picking it up and attacking it with his peak

What would be the cause of this ?
Both birds seem well bonded mating feeding each other etc

I give them veg and egg food daily
They get a multi vitamin
They get liquid calcium
